Everything You Want To Know About Electro-Lymphatic Therapy

Do you ever have that sluggish feeling? You’ve drunk water, rested, taken some vitamin C, and cannot “kick” that feeling. Your lymph system may be the reason for your symptoms.

What is the lymphatic system?

The lymphatic system is part of your body's immune system and helps fight infection. Lymph itself is a clear, slightly yellow fluid. It transports nutrients and oxygen to cells, collecting toxins on the way and flushing them out through the lymph nodes. You have around twice as many lymph vessels as blood vessels in your body.

How does the lymphatic system become congested?

Over time the lymphatic flow can become stagnate, due to stress, poor diet, environmental toxins, inactivity, surgery, hormone imbalances, dehydration, injuries, immobility, pathogens, and normal aging process, the lymphatic fluid becomes sluggish and gets stuck in different areas of the body causing inflammation and possibly sick. This is how cellulite originates: clogged lymph nodes become lymph lumps, the fatty deposits we know as cellulite. Unlike the circulatory system, the lymphatic system does not have the heart to pump the toxins out of the body.

When stagnation occurs, sluggish lymph can interfere with the ability of the lymphatic fluid to properly transport life-sustaining oxygen, nutrients and hormones into the cellular tissue. This stagnation can weaken the immune system, eventually compromising the health and integrity of the cell, encouraging inflammation, which is known to be the precursor to many common illnesses as well as premature aging.

How can I detox the lymph system?

Electro Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) is a powerful way to purge toxins from your whole body and set your body on a pathway to health and healing.

How does Electro-Lymphatic Therapy work?

Electro-Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) is an advanced, safe, painless and non-invasive lymph technology that instantly and effectively disperses any areas of underlying lymph congestion. Electro Lymphatic Therapy uses a combination of vibration, light, and electrical waves to break up toxins that have become stuck together in lymphatic vessels. Stagnation is reversed and the lymph system is now free to FLOW.  The lymph system performs its normal cleansing function. This device is designed by a Medical Doctor and NASA Engineer to enhance the immune system, increase detoxification and reduce inflammation.

What are some signs of a sluggish lymphatic system?

There are several symptoms of a sluggish lymphatic system, including but not limited to Headaches & Brain Fog, Sluggishness & Fatigue, Puffy Eyes, Poor Mood & Irritability, Anxiety & Depression, Flu, Swelling & Water Weight, Allergies(ex: Sinus), Pain & Joint Discomfort, Sleep Problems, Digestive Issues, Auto-Immune Disorders, Breast Congestion, Lymphedema, Fibromyalgia, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Poor Circulation, Various Arthritic Conditions (ex: Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, & Osteoporosis) and much more.

Commonly Asked Questions about Electro- Lymphatic Therapy

Q: What can I expect during an Electro -Lymphatic Therapy session?

A: During the session, you will be undressed on a massage table under a sheet /blanket.  Your certified lymphatic therapist will use a hand-held wand that lightly applied to the surface of the skin, producing a negative energy field that allows the blood and lymph fluid to circulate freely. This procedure is a slow, subtle and gently swiping movement that sends high-frequency electrical pulses into your lymphatic system. These pulses can penetrate up to 2 1/2 inches into the body reaching areas that would normally be impossible using Manual Lymphatic Massage. These healing frequencies break up congestion, re-balance the cells and enhance your immunity. We recommend ELT followed by Colon Hydrotherapy. These combinations help in better cleansing by first breaking up toxins and then eliminating them from your body. The combination should be done on the same day or the following day.

Q: Would you recommend having this treatment before and after surgery?

A: Yes. We recommend 1-2 sessions prior to surgery and to make recovery easier. Electro Lymphatic Therapy is the best way to ease bruising, swelling, discomfort and move stagnant lymph fluid out of the body after surgeries such as Liposuction, Abdominoplasty, and Breast Augmentation. Please check the website under “post-surgical recovery” for more detailed information.

Q: Is Electro Lymphatic Therapy a full body treatment?

A: Yes. It’s a full-body treatment.   If you have a specific area that you need to work on, please tell the therapist during the session.

Q: Why is it important to work on the upper body when I have problems with fluid retention in my lower body?

A: There are important pathways for the lymph system in the body to which you must follow in order for the treatments to work properly. It is important to start by opening up the area underneath the clavicle which is where the main drainage of the lymphatic system begins. From that point, go to the next main junction which would be the armpits, abdomen and groin areas before treating the lower parts of the body. You must then always go back to the upper trunk area and make sure that as you move the fluids back, you do not bring about further blockages otherwise the treatment will not work properly.

Q: Is it possible to have treatments for the bowel and abdominal areas?

A: Yes and this can help many digestive problems to heal. We recommend adding the Colon Hydrotherapy treatment to follow the ELT.

Q: How should I prepare for Electro- Lymphatic Therapy?
A: The most important thing about getting the most out of your Electro-Lymphatic Session is to be well-hydrated. Begin drinking water on the day of, minimal water is recommended one hour before the session. Continue drinking water for at least another 24-48 hours after your session for maximum benefits. Plan to get some rest after the procedure.

For maximum results, we recommend you avoid:

-Wearing lotion, oil, deodorant, perfume or makeup. These products can be absorbed and interfere with the effects of the treatment.

-Wearing Jewelry.

-Coffee, soda, sugar, alcohol, etc before or after your treatment.

Q: What can I eat after my treatment?

A: A light, nutritious meal is best after the procedure.

Q: Should I expect to experience any detox symptoms after the session?
A: Most people feel great immediately after their session and continue to feel energized the next day.  It is possible that if you are dehydrated or if you have a lot of toxins to purge that you might feel a bit fatigued or flu-like, and may have muscle soreness afterward. It is important to rid the body of the toxins by drinking more water than normal. Your body needs extra water to eliminate waste. You may urinate more often and there may be an odor or different color, this is due to the toxins leaving the body.

Q: Is Electro Lymphatic Therapy a painful procedure?

A: No, this is a safe, painless and relaxing procedure. During the sessions, most of the clients fall asleep.

Q: Is it possible to have an Electro-Lymphatic Therapy while on your period?

A: Electro- Lymphatic Therapy is perfectly safe during this time. Your period may have a different length of time than normal due to body cleansing out the toxins.  Be sure to drink more water.

Q: How is this treatment different from Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

A: Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is the traditional method of moving lymph in order to drain swollen areas of the body and return the excess fluid to the circulatory system so it may be excreted from the body. It is also available for anyone unable to use Electro-Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) due to wounds, pacemakers, or other conditions.

Electro-Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) accomplishes the same movement of fluid out of swollen tissues, but it is done with special wands that create electrostatic energy fields. It breaks up the blockage of bacteria and blood proteins that have congested in the nodes. This electrostatic energy field de-coagulates lymph, markedly increasing lymphatic movement.

Q: How many treatments are recommended and how often?

A: Usually people get this therapy about twice a week for a couple of weeks to get the maximum benefit.  Therefore they can back down to once a week or once every two weeks to maintain.

Q: What should I expect if I am taking medication/supplements?

A: After you have the Electro-Lymphatic Therapy, you may have an increased chance of absorption of the medication/supplements.
